Job Title: CNC Operative
Responsible to: CNC Manager
Location: Armstrong Composites at Armstrong Group – Bayton Road, Coventry
Role Purpose: Setting and/operating 5 Axis CNC machines using siemens controls. Use of manufacturing patterns, moulds, composite tooling, and components. Reading and understanding of instructions from a manual or engineering drawing.
Main Duties:
• Setting and operating 5 axis Bretons using siemens controls.
• Inspection of parts to engineering drawings.
• Setting tools using heat shrink.
• Prove out first off Programs for productions.
• Operate KUKA robots for production parts.
• Support blocking up and hand finishing of patterns.
• To achieve delivery targets of our customers while ensuring quality is not compromised.
• Support the continuing 5S and LEAN Manufacturing activities.
Requirements
• Interpret engineering drawings.
• Follow SOPs and processes.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, and on multiple concurrent projects.
• Work with minimal supervision.
• At least two years’ experience with setting and operating CNC machines.
• Basic knowledge of the make-up of race cars and road cars.
• Experience using measuring equipment.
• H&S Awareness

Job Title: Sheet Metal Worker Apprentice
Responsible to: Production Supervisor
Location: ADV Manufacturing – Bayton Road, Coventry
Role Purpose: We’re working in partnership with Train’d Up to recruit the next generation of metal workers. If you are interested in this apprenticeship please get in touch!
Skills You Will Learn:
• Basic fitting, sheet metal and fabrication skills
• The ability to use the common range of metal working hand tools safely and effectively
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Shape, join and finish components to meet the customer’s quality standards
• Manufacturing parts using general sheet metal tools and techniques.
• Operating machinery such as guillotines, pan benders, grinders etc.
• Must be a time served Sheet Metal Worker
Main Duties Following Apprenticeship:
• Using sheet metal joining techniques (welding, bonding, riveting)
• Hand forming panels.
• Ability to read engineering drawings & work to tight tolerances
• Use appropriate tools to ensure that customer products are manufactured to requirements
• Ability to develop blanks and forms
• TIG Welding
• Any other reasonable task as directed by the management team
